Brief bio:

Brian was born and raised on the south coast of England. He was influenced at a very early age by the great works of; The Bow Factory, Spode China, Bernard Leach, Hans Coper, Lucie Rie and Ruth Duckworth to name a few.

He graduated from the Portsmouth College of Art in 1990 and worked in London for seven years before career opportunities took him to the United States and Washington D.C.

Brian matches form with functionality in the tradition of classic British potters. He seamlessly weaves British and Asian characteristics into all of his hand-thrown pottery pieces.

He lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife Bethany, son Jack, and daughter Maggie.

"I believe that my pottery should be felt. I think in some ways that art is alive and wants to be felt, and I think it wants and needs to be touched to be appreciated."
